We are a congregation of the Lord Jesus Christ serving Him in the city of Edmonton. We are Reformed in doctrine, worship and practice standing firmly on the Holy Scriptures, preaching Christ alone for salvation. Our purpose is twofold:
First, to show sinners the way to salvation through repentance of sin and faith in Christ alone. Our shorter catechism sums up what is required for salvation aptly by stating,
Repentance unto life is a saving grace, whereby a sinner, out of a true sense of his sin, and apprehension of the mercy of God in Christ, doth, with grief and hatred of his sin, turn from it unto God, with full purpose of, and endeavor after, new obedience.
Second, our purpose is to strengthen the body of Christ. In the book of Ephesians, Paul teaches that offices within the church are for the perfecting of the saints (Ephesians 4:12). This is achieved by maintaining pure doctrine, worship and government within the visible church. Christ calls His church to faithfulness. Faithfulness to His revealed will first and foremost. The writer of Jude puts it aptly;
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. ~ Jude 1:3
